A Python library and command for changing prices, dates, addresses and headings in existing PDFs. It cuts the old words out of the page and draws the new ones in the file's own embedded font, so nothing else moves.

What it does

Removed, not covered: Changed text is cut out of the page's content stream and every other string stays exactly where it was.
The file's own typeface: New words are drawn in the font embedded in the PDF. If a letter is missing from it, a warning names it and the font used instead.
Untouched means byte-identical: Open and save without changes and you get the same bytes back. Edit one page of forty and the others keep their content.
Stacking order kept: Anything painted on top of what you changed is redrawn on top again, in the original order.
Find and replace across pages: pdfedit replace shows every line it would change with --dry-run, then saves once.
Honest about its limits: Rotated text can be deleted but not retyped, and protected files are refused in one plain line. It is an editor, not a redaction tool.

Do I need GitHub?: Yes. Access is a read-only invitation to a private repository, sent to the GitHub account you choose.
Can I get a refund?: Yes, within 14 days, no questions asked. Access ends when the refund goes through. Refund policy.
